What initially appeared to be a tiny home stuck on the Bay Bridge captured commuters’ attention after it caused a traffic back-up on Wednesday afternoon.

The large object was in fact two porta-potties — painted to look like tiny homes — that had fallen off the trailer of a Ford pickup truck, according to California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that the blockage was first reported at 1:17 p.m. The pickup and its trailer were blocking the number one lane going westbound on I-80 said Vanessa Godoy, a substitute public information officer for California Highway Patrol.

Within an hour, a private tow truck took the trailer off the scene. No injuries or accidents were reported.

The reason for the issue was that the connector portion between the truck and the trailer had snapped, said Godoy.

All traffic was back to its normal conditions by Wednesday evening, CHP said.
